Back by popular demand, The Skinny drops by to talk with Homerism about the biggest spring developments for the Oklahoma Sooners.

 

NFL Draft

The Skin and I both agree that OU’s strong showing at the 2010 NFL Draft should be a boon on the recruiting trail. However, given all the high-profile talent drafted into the pro years this year, would it be fair to say the Sooners actually underachieved in the last four years? The Skin explains why that’s not case.

We also discuss Texas Longhorns coach Mack Brown’s appearance at the draft, which didn’t sit right with Skinny, and break down the winners and losers from the weekend.

Spring Football

What were the big stories coming out of Oklahoma spring practice? Homerism and Skinny talk about the emergence of a couple newcomers, as well as the makeover of the defensive backfield under new secondary coach Willie Martinez.

Skin also really likes a couple of wrinkles that head coach Bob Stoops added to spring ball this year.

Scheduling Philosophy

Do the Sooners need to re-evaluate their approach to scheduling? Stoops seems to think so.

The Skinny and I would prefer to maintain the status quo regarding big nonconference games, but there’s definitely merit to Stoops’ stance.
