Hey, Longhorn ladies, looking for a ticket to see your favorite team do battle versus Alabama for the national championship? Are you a “classy hottie?” Well, Texas casanova Sigfried Ergman has an offer for you!
Our buddies over at Gators First caught up with this now-infamous Longhorn lothario today. They talked about his well-publicized advertisement on Craiglist for some company for two magical nights in Pasadena culminating with a begrudging sexual encounter Texas national title win.
On the plus side, ladies, Ergman’s ad has generated enough viral buzz to guarantee that you probably won’t find yourself chained up in a storage unit in Barstow having your body hair collected one by one and put into a Ziplock bag. The downside? Ummm….
After reading the interview, it’s tough not to feel for a guy whose FBI agent trolling chat rooms for sexual predators girlfriend dumped him after a month for his “pizza-faced” roommate. Here’s hoping Sigfried finds that special someone who values a chance to see Texas in the Rose Bowl more than her dignity.
(And, yes, I realize this is probably an elaborate Internet hoax. But a guy can still dream.)
*McCoy Moving On
In a development as completely unsurprising as the McKnight investigation, Oklahoma All-American defensive tackle Gerald McCoy announced Friday that he would be heading to the NFL. Of the “big four” who opted last February to stay for a senior season at OU, McCoy’s decision surprised me the most–even more so than Sam Bradford. He’s headed for an outstanding career in the pros and will make the NFL franchise that drafts him in the top 10 incredibly happy.

From the “shocking revelations” department, the Los Angeles Times is reporting that USC running back and ex-wunderkind recruit Joe McKnight is being investigated by the school for allegations that some marketer/agent/record producer/temp worker gave him a $27,000 whip.
In his quotes in the Times story, McKnight certainly appears to be obfuscating the truth–and doing so very poorly–when answering questions about a reporter’s claims that he was seen driving the car on the Southern Cal campus. Equally odd are the conflicting stories given by McKnight and USC’s compliance department.
My guess is that McKnight can’t declare for the NFL fast enough for the Trojans’ liking.
UPDATE: The marketer involved in the case has responded to the Times in bizarre fashion.
*San Diego Sooners
San Diego area high school standouts Tony Jefferson and Kenny Stills made a lot of Sooner fans happy last night by committing to OU. Jefferson ($), who projects as a safety or outside linebacker, is ranked 10th best prospect in the country and the top overall “athlete” by ESPN. ESPN ranks Stills ($) as the No. 37 wide receiver in the country, and if you watched the Sooners’ pass catchers this year, it’s clear he fills a big hole.
In the grander scheme of things, Stills and Jefferson join running back Brennan Clay as the potential foundation of a Sooner pipeline from San Diego. Although it’s not uncommon for OU to score commitments from outside of its Oklahoma-Texas breadbasket, the recruiting hotbed of California has proved somewhat tough for the Sooners to penetrate.
With OU still in the running for prep studs Jackson Jeffcoat and Darius White and junior college standout Cameron Newton, the 2010 recruiting class is shaping up as possibly Bob Stoops’ best.
*Start the Rumor Mill Up Again
Now that the Bob Stoops-to-Notre Dame talk has been put to rest, its time for round two: Stoops and the NFL.
Chris Mortensen, ESPN’s long-tenured NFL gossip, said yesterday on The Herd radio show that he thinks Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will pursue Stoops and other college candidates this offseason once he’s able to jettison current Cowboys coach Wade Phillips.
Much like the Notre Dame situation, I wouldn’t be completely shocked if Stoops bolted OU for the big leagues. I really don’t see it happening in this case, though. The meddling of Jones and media glare in Big D wouldn’t be that appealing to Stoops. Additionally, Stoops is burning up the recruiting trail this year, and that’s not the sign of a coach who will be leaving Norman in the near future.
In another piece of NFL news, it sounds like Mike Shanahan will be taking over the Redskins. If it’s true that Washington has zeroed in on Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford ($) in the upcoming NFL draft, playing under the two-time Super Bowl winner actually would make being a ‘Skin palatable.
