Our shop is equipped to fabricate custom return air plenums for all brands of furnace or air handler.

A return air plenum serves the same function as the supply air plenum except the airflow is delivered from the home, collected in the return air plenum chamber, flowing through the furnace filter and back into the furnace cabinet ( see diagram below )

Our return air plenums are fabricated with a 1″ flange so each can be easily sheet metal screwed to the side of your forced air furnace air handler.

Our return air cabinets are made to fit stock sizing of basic home furnace filters. All brands of furnace and air handler have a side cut-out to accommodate return air plenums or cold air boots to fit common filter sizes i.e. 16×25, 16×24 and 16×20

All of our return air plenums are fabricated with 26 gauge galvanized sheet metal and a filter rack built inside the plenum cabinet, assembled by hammering together Pittsburgh joints. Every plenum is formed with a 1/2″ or 1″ plenum bend on the bottom end and plenum cap on top, unless no flange is noted by the customer.
