Around where I live…

I’m quite enjoying this accidental series I’ve created… and it makes taking photos for it even more fun.

The Zenit B came with a Helios 44-2 lens which has a slight zoom, and as well as being able to focus on more interesting details (which is a struggle with plastic cameras) I also got to play around with the aperture. I am still not bored of playing with depth of field… I’m pretty sure I might never get bored of it.

As well as taking multiple exposures with the Double Dip, I wanted to see how the single exposure results looked too and overall I really like them, they remind me of the La Sardina camera with the fuzzy edges.

Keeping it real…

I’ve seen a lot of blog posts lately about ‘keeping it real‘ and it made me think about how I show my life… It’s difficult to lie as such through photos, but I can be selective of what I take photos of (especially when film cameras need sunshine) but as I was thinking about these posts and worrying if perhaps I keep it real enough, I decided to take my camera out on a rainy walk home rather than waiting for it to be sunny like I usually do. I think I love the results and also showing a more honest side of Yorkshire – it rains a lot here!

12 for 2012 – Camera 6

As part of my ‘take more photos’ goal for this year – I decided that I wanted to use more of the cameras that I haven’t actually used before in my collection. I am a little behind on these but I’m catching up and as long as I get 12 cameras done by the end of the year I’ll be happy.

I’m quite excited about this camera, the Olympus XA2, I’d seen Angie’s photos and review of it and it immediately went on my list of cameras that I wanted to get.

I finally got my hands on one a couple of months ago (thanks Adam!) and I’ve enjoyed taking it out with me. Here are some my results.

I tried to be quite experimental with the photos I took with this camera, it has a flash so I tried that, I also used it inside without the flash, outside in the rain, outside in the sunshine… I wanted to get a feel for it and when I would want to use it and overall I’m quite excited about it, the flash is a great feature for if you want to capture family moments and I like the results on duller days too. Definitely a contender for regular use I think.

You can see the other cameras that I’ve used this year here.

I’m really very excited to be sharing this camera with you, it is the Double Dip by James Butler , a custom toy camera with an added multiple exposure switch – you can read more about the Double Dip here. I’d seen some results around the internet before I took any photos and I was fairly excited about taking this little silver baby out and I was not disappointed!

How fun is this camera? I love double exposures, I usually try to take my holga or diana with me when I go somewhere new but I’ve never had a camera dedicated to just multiple exposures alone, I think this camera will be going with me to new places now too.

I decided to post this today as 5 more Double Dip cameras are going on sale tomorrow at 9.30am GMT and if you love these results as much as I do,
I don’t think you’ll want to miss out!

You can also follow James on Twitter for more immediate information tomorrow morning.

A little after work walk…

The week before I went home for the wedding, the weather was horrendous! (I sulked here lol) but luckily one evening on the way home there was a short break of sunshine and I took full opportunity of it by getting off the bus a few stops early and going for a little photo walk around Kirkstall Abbey with a camera for a film swap and my phone.
It started to rain again after a while (you can see splodges of rain on the last two photos) but I was so thrilled with the sunshine that I had managed to capture that I didn’t care…

Luckily this week is glorious (I mean, Summer glorius too, woo), I have a replacement LC-A and I now have two rolls of film to develop. I am enjoying combining both my film and instagram photos on here though – it gives me the opportunity to share more and thats never a bad thing right.

This weekend I’m hoping to take even more film photos (I think my mojo is back, huzzah!), experiment with my polaroid land camera and soak up some sunshine!

Have a great weekend!!

I mentioned before that I was just trying to finish a film when I went to take these photos but now that I’m looking at them, I’m really glad I took so many photos of the daffodils, they never last long enough.

Have a great weekend!

I originally started taking these photos to use up the end of a film, but once I started taking them I kept noticing more and more things. We used to live in one of the flats in the first photo, so I’m glad I took that photo, I always liked it, it was just what we needed at the time.

Have a great weekend!
