An Education

November 29, 2009

After not having watched a movie for ages, the girls and I watched An Education, and what a great flick it was! Set in 1961, the very pretty Carey Mulligan plays a smart 16-year-old schoolgirl who is mildly disappointed with her lot in life. In a twist of fate, she falls in love with the charm of art, jazz… and a man twice her age.

I loved the wardrobe for the movie, and the script was really good. I think Mulligan, who’s actually 24, is going to have a lot more roles and magazine covers in the near future.

As for the storyline itself, the desire to escape from monotony? Let’s just say, I feel you, kid. I feel you big time.
