Sometimes I think it would be amazing to have honey bees in my backyard. The garden would be beautifully pollinated with local honey at your disposal. And then I get realistic and remember I have no real desire to tangle with potentially perturbed bees. I’m excited to share that I passed my Registered Dietitian exam last week and am now Carlene Thomas RD! It was a very suspenseful two hour test since I  knew I would find out my results immediately. So after four years of undergrad, a nine month internship, and a two hour test it was time to celebrate everything I’ve worked for. Internship Update: Graduation!!!

It’s official, I’m a Virginia Tech Dietetic Internship alum! All seventeen interns from the DC site and the Blacksburg site, spent Friday at Virginia Tech for graduation. Here are a few choice photos from the afternoon, as well as the best road trip detour sights we’ve ever seen. Northern Site Interns All celebrations require a jump shot.  This is much harder than it looks. On the way back north, the husband decided we needed to finally stop and see Natural Bridge. After driving by for years, I’m glad we took a central Virginia detour. It is a massive sight….

Dietetic Internship Final Update: Food Service part 2

Well guys, this is it. The last real dietetic internship update. I am done with my nine months and 1,299 hours of internship. Then it’s graduation and sitting for the RD exam. Nine months of dietetic internship is a labor of love.
