Welcome! My name is Josh Lange. I live in Shanghai and work for Concordia Welfare and Education Foundation (CWEF). Founded in 2005 by Lutheran Christians living in Hong Kong, CWEF works with impoverished communities to implement education and health programs designed to improve life over the long-term.
CWEF not only reaches out to the marginalized people of Asia; it also seeks to connect these people with those who have been blessed with considerably more. We create ‘service learning’ opportunities for churches, schools, families, and other volunteers to assist with a variety of CWEF projects and to meet the local people. Service learning participants come away from these experiences with a fresh perspective and a new understanding of how they can love others and positively impact the world around them.
I am based out of our Shanghai office and serve as the Director of Operations for CWEF. I work with our local and foreign staff members to ensure that CWEF’s education and health programs in China and Cambodia are planned and carried out according to CWEF’S vision, mission and values.
