A friend recently asked which books would I recommend for the top ten must-reads for Christians. Here are my picks, in no particular order:
- Mere Christianity, C. S. Lewis
- Desiring God, John Piper
- The Pursuit of God, A. W. Tozer
- The Knowledge of the Holy, A. W. Tozer
- How To Read the Bible for All Its Worth, Gordon Fee
- Knowing God, J. I. Packer
- Putting Amazing Back into Grace, Michael Horton
- The Reason for God, Tim Keller
- Systematic Theology, Wayne Grudem
- Expositor’s Bible Commentary, NT Set, editor, Frank Gaebelein
Am I leaving any out?

What about the Bible?
Good call, Adam! That certainly is the main one. The question from my friend was for books to build a Christian library. Perhaps I shouldn’t assume that the library already has the Book of all Books!
