Courier New, Eat Your Heart Out
Lookie, lookie
it looks beautiful displayed, amiright?
A couple of my favorite things in life are going to thrift stores and my mother. When I get the opportunity to have both, it’s a great day. I also love manual typewriters. I found this vintage Olivetti at the Salvation Army for six dollars. Yep, six.
For Christmas 2008, my husband bought me a manual typewriter. I was sad it didn’t work properly, and even more sad he paid a bit more than my old one. I mourn the digital age and my homage is to take these amazing pieces of design and give them a proper display. I even had my old typewriters displayed at my library-themed wedding. I think they have this romance about them. I have this image of some crazy writer typing away like a madman writing a love letter. Love it.
