Last Minute Stockings for you!

stockings

Since Saturday I’ve completed and even blocked 3 stockings, written up the pattern and layed it out. Then today I roped my mum into decorating her fireplace (my little flat does have 3, but they’re all black) and took some photos. All of this means that the Last Minute Stockings pattern is now available. I haven’t had a chance to add the pattern page to my store yet, but for now you can

I hope you like them. They’re worked from the toe up with a Japanese short row heel and stranded colourwork at the cuffs which are finished with an I-cord bind off that neatly continues to form the hanging loop. Charts are included for all 26 letters, a tree, snowflake and a bird. These stockings are a great way to stashbust and they’d also make a wonderful introduction to the world of sock knitting – no teeny needles or second sock syndrome!

Now I just have to make the things to go in these!

These look awesome – maybe even I could make one! But then, one does have a J on it… should I be very excited?

I’m envisioning a pink and grey set. Or maybe pink and grey for me, white and grey for the fella.

I broke down and bought the pattern after seeing hand knit stockings on the cover of a catalog. I knew I could make them myself. I wasn’t sure about the figure 8 cast on nor the Japanese short row heel. But the directions are wonderful and I am almost done with the first stocking. Need to knit up at least 2 more before the holidays.
